If you have authorised a bank transfer that turned out to be a scam, you may still be entitled to a refund from your bank under the Contingent Reimbursement Model (CRM) and the new PSR reimbursement rules that came into force in October 2024.

  3. 3Bank has up to 8 weeks to reply, or 5 business days under the new PSR regime

Every major UK bank and payment institution — high-street, challenger and e-money. Refundee has handled cases against all of them.

How long ago can the payment have been?+

The Financial Ombudsman Service will look at complaints up to six years after the event, or three years from when you became aware of the loss.
